Smirnov Artyom graduated from Ivanovo state university of chemistry and technology in the "Technology of fine organic synthesis" department. His graduate project described the production design of petroleum o-xylene. As well as engineering work, Artyom made science projects related to the synthesis and characterization of phthalocyanine complexes of rare-earth metals.

In 2019 Artyom got into the Applied materials SCAMTs master program. The current project relates to inkjet printing of WGM microdisk lasers and polymer-perovskite quantum dots composites.
