Ali Ayati was born in Birjand, Iran, in 1981.
He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, with a specialization in nanotechnology, green chemistry, and water treatment. His professional experience includes serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Quchan University of Technology since 2015. Additionally, he has completed postdoctoral research positions at Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland, where he focused on adsorption processes, photocatalysis, and nanocomposites synthesis.
In 2022, he joined ITMO University, as a leader researcher at the SCAMT Institute. He has been recognized as one of the top 2% scientists in 2021 and 2022.
