Lecture 2. Synthesis of nanoparticles from nanotoxicology perspective
In this lecture, we will discuss the main synthesis approaches for obtaining nanoparticles, name chemical, physical, and green synthesis ways. We also will talk about how each of these approaches will affect the final toxicity of produced particles considering the biomedical application. Wу will discuss the solvothermal method, chemical reduction, effects of zeta-potential, the impact of aggregation on cytotoxicity, laser ablation, green chemistry, microemulsions, cytotoxicity of surfactants, nanoprecipitation, desolvation, and biomimetic particles.
Lecture 1. Introduction to nanotoxicology
In this lecture, we will discuss the basic principles of the Nanotoxicology discipline, such as 1) What are the crucial parameters of nanoparticles when we considering toxicity effects (size, shape, charge, composition, dependencies from the cell models) 2) How functionalization can affect particle toxicity (PEGylation, protein corona) 3) What types of models used for testing of nanomaterials (in silico, in vitro, ex vivo, in vivo, lab-on-chip) 4) What information you can obtain from different test models
